Davit Roof Installation for the Rush Medical Center

Rush Hospital was required to meet safety regulations on three roofs; Jelke, Kellogg, and The Atrium. To meet the standards, we were asked to install tie-off davits. Through required intense coordination with hospital staff, building maintenance, and our installers, these fall restraints were installed above mechanical penthouses, intensive care rooms, and in crawl spaces below roof deck but above hospital rooms. Once installed, these fall arrest anchors were made watertight in strict compliance with the roof system manufacturer’s specifications in order to not void the owner’s roof warranty. Upon completion, an independent testing group performed 5000 lbs. pull tests on each installed davit to insure compliance with current OSHA regulations.
